Inside My Bespoke Web Design Process: Strategy to Launch

There is a common misconception in the small business world that “Web Design” simply means making things look pretty.

Phase 2: Architecture & Wireframing (The Blueprint)

Imagine building a house without a blueprint. You wouldn’t do it. Yet, thousands of businesses build websites without wireframes.

In this phase, we strip away colour, fonts, and images. We focus purely on layout and user flow (UX). We use tools like Figma to block out the structure of each page.

We answer questions like:

  • “Does the user have enough information here to click ‘Buy’?”
  • “Is the navigation intuitive for a 60-year-old user on a mobile phone?”
  • “Where should the primary Call to Action (CTA) live?”

We map out the User Journey: the path we want a visitor to take from their first landing to the final “Thank You” page.

Output: Low-fidelity wireframes that outline the skeleton of the entire site.

Phase 3: High-Fidelity Design (The Visual Language)

This is where the magic happens. We layer your brand identity over the wireframes to create a stunning, immersive visual experience.

Our design decisions are rooted in psychology, not just personal preference:

  • Typography: We select typefaces that embody your brand’s voice, whether that is the sturdy reliability of a sans-serif for a construction firm, or the elegant tradition of a serif for a law practice.
  • Colour Theory: Colours evoke emotion. Blue builds trust. Orange creates urgency. Black implies luxury. We continually test these palettes to ensure accessibility and impact.
  • Visual Hierarchy: We use size, contrast, and spacing to guide the user’s eye to the most important elements (like your phone number or the “Get a Quote” button).

Output: Full-colour, interactive prototypes that look exactly like the finished product.

Phase 4: The Build (Engineering)

We don’t use drag-and-drop page builders like Elementor, Wix, or Divi. Why? Because they produce “bloated” code that slows down your site, hurts your Google rankings, and is vulnerable to hacking.

We hand-code our sites using modern, enterprise-grade technologies:

  • Astro & React: For lightning-fast rendering and component-based architecture.
  • Tailwind CSS: For precise, custom styling that adapts perfectly to any screen size.
  • Git & CI/CD: Professional version control workflows that ensure safe, reliable updates.

Phase 5: Testing & Quality Assurance

A broken link or a misaligned button can kill credibility instantly. We have a rigorous QA checklist we run before any launch:

  1. Cross-Browser Testing: Does it look perfect on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge?
  2. Device Lab: We test on iPhones, Androids, iPads, and oversized desktop monitors.
  3. Accessibility Audit: We ensure screen readers can navigate the site, and contrast ratios meet WCAG standards.
  4. Performance Benchmarking: We aim for 95-100/100 on Google PageSpeed Insights.

Phase 6: Launch & Handover

Launch day is a celebration, but not the end.

  • We handle the DNS propagation and SSL certificate installation.
  • We set up Google Search Console and submit your sitemap to ensure faster indexing.
  • We integrate Google Analytics 4 (GA4) so you can track exactly who is visiting and what they are doing.

Finally, we record a personalised video training series for you. We show you how to edit text, upload blog posts, and manage your new digital asset. You own everything: the code, the domain, and the design.
